Reddit and Quora are goldmines, but only if you play the long game, i’ve used both to drive traffic and build branded backlinks, here’s how I approach it:
🔸 Reddit:
- Join subreddits where my niche content fits naturally (like r/Entrepreneur or r/DigitalMarketing).
- Become an active commenter for at least 2 weeks before posting links.
- When I share, it’s always wrapped in a story, insight, or solution, not just “Here’s my blog.”
I recently answered a Reddit thread on SEO myths with a personal story and included a link to my myth-busting guide. That one comment brought over 900 visitors and a handful of natural backlinks from other bloggers.
🔸 Quora:
- Same strategy: Provide deep, thoughtful answers.
- I link to my site only if it’s relevant and expands on the answer.
- Repurpose answers into blog content for double value.
Neither Reddit nor Quora backlinks are dofollow, but they DO get crawled, indexed, and can generate secondary backlinks if others quote you, be helpful first, link second, that’s the key to not getting banned and still benefiting from traffic + authority.
