By creating an account at Backlink Exchange ("the platform") you agree to the following terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
1. The service
Backlink Exchange is a free platform that helps webmasters arrange three-way and reciprocal backlink exchanges with other verified webmasters. The platform itself does not place, edit, or guarantee any backlink — it only provides the coordination, verification, and monitoring tools used by members.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction.
- You may only list websites you control. Domain ownership must be verified via meta tag or DNS before a listing goes live.
- One account per person. Multi-account abuse (sock-puppeting, fake reviews, vote manipulation) is grounds for suspension.
3. Acceptable use
You agree NOT to use the platform for, or to list websites that contain:
- Adult or sexually explicit content, gambling without proper licensing, illegal drug sales, weapons, malware, phishing, or any other content that violates the law where the content is hosted or viewed.
- Sites built primarily to host outbound links (PBNs, link farms) with no genuine editorial content.
- Cloaking — serving search engines a different page than human visitors see.
- Placement that hides agreed links via CSS (
display: none,visibility: hidden, opacity 0, hidden attribute),rel="nofollow"when dofollow was agreed, or any other deceptive placement. - Harassment, hate speech, doxxing, or threats in messages, reviews, or bios.
- Spam: bulk-messaging requests with the same template, mass-listing low-quality domains, or pressuring partners.
- Circumventing our rate limits, scraping the site, automating actions beyond the public-API contract, or reverse-engineering the verification system.
4. Exchanges and reviews
- The platform facilitates connections; you and your exchange partner are responsible for the actual editorial placement, including link relevance, anchor text, and any disclosure required by local advertising regulations.
- Reviews must reflect your genuine experience with the partner. Coordinated retaliatory reviews are grounds for removal.
- Once a review is submitted you can request its removal only if it contains factually false claims; admins decide on a case-by-case basis.
5. Content licence
You retain ownership of everything you submit (listings, messages, reviews, bios). You grant Backlink Exchange a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and re-display that content to other members and to send it in notification emails, strictly for the purpose of operating the platform. This licence terminates when you delete the content (see Privacy Policy §6).
6. Account actions and termination
- You may delete your account at any time via /dashboard/account/delete.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the acceptable-use rules above, with or without notice depending on severity. Reports filed by other members are reviewed by admins.
- Repeated reliability-score collapses (large numbers of dead, hidden, or cloaked placements) may trigger a review even without member reports.
7. No warranty
The platform is provided "as is". We make no warranty that any exchange will produce SEO results, that any placed backlink will remain live forever, or that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free. Search-engine rankings are entirely outside our control.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Backlink Exchange and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of revenue, traffic, rankings, or data, arising from your use of the platform. Our total aggregate liability for any direct claim is capped at the amounts you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim — which, since the platform is free, is zero.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim by third parties arising out of (a) websites you list, (b) backlinks you place, (c) content you submit through messages or reviews, or (d) any breach of these Terms.
10. Changes
We may revise these Terms over time. Material changes will be announced via dashboard notice and email to account holders. Continued use of the service after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law & contact
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator's place of establishment. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts there, unless local consumer-protection law mandates otherwise.
